ACBL Best Practices Teacher Certification

ACBL's Best Practices certification is a multi-day workshop on how to teach bridge using proven adult-education methods.

The ACBL Best Practices Teacher Certification is a multi-day workshop focused on teaching methodology — "how to teach, not what to teach." It draws on adult-education methods validated by more than 400 bridge instructors.

Requirements#

To earn certification, participants must:

  • Attend the multi-day workshop.
  • Pass a proficiency demonstration following the workshop.
  • If they hold fewer than 50 masterpoints, pass a basic bridge knowledge assessment before the workshop begins.

Costs#

  • Workshop fee: $125 USD (at NABC locations)
  • Proficiency assessment fee: $25 USD
  • Refresher rate: $50 USD for those repeating the workshop

TAP-certified teachers receive partial rebates of up to $75.

Benefits#

Certified teachers are recognized through the ACBL Find a Teacher directory and receive a certificate, a lapel pin, and logo usage rights. Certification also includes complimentary resources such as American Bridge Teachers' Association (ABTA) membership and teaching materials.

Registration#
