Conditions of Contest

1. Scope#

These Conditions of Contest apply to all ACBL-sanctioned tournament events, together with Appendix G (special event conditions) and Appendix O (online conditions).

2.1 Conditions for the event#

The Conditions for a specific event are published in advance and prevail over the general conditions where they differ, except that they may not conflict with the Laws of Duplicate Bridge or the Codification. Masterpoint awards for the event follow the Codification 4.2 — Masterpoint awards.

2.2 Eligibility#

Players must be members in good standing to earn masterpoints. Restricted events additionally require that every member of a partnership or team fall within the stated masterpoint limits.

5.4 Stratification#

Events may be stratified by the average of the pair's masterpoint holdings, or by the higher holding where these Conditions so state. Strat boundaries are published with the event schedule and may not be changed after the first board is played.

Appendix G — Special events#

Appendix G sets the additional conditions for NABC+ championship events, including seeding and carryover.

Appendix O — Online events#

Appendix O sets the conditions for online events, including permitted platforms, self-alerting, and anti-abuse measures.
