How a table ruling is appealed and how a committee or reviewer decides.
When a ruling is appealed#
A contestant who disagrees with a table ruling may appeal it. Explain the ruling, the law applied, and the right to appeal. Record the facts while they are fresh.
How it is heard#
At a tournament, an appeal is heard by a committee or by a reviewer, depending on the event. The contestants present their accounts; the director explains the ruling; the committee applies the Laws of Duplicate Bridge and any relevant Conditions.
After the decision#
The decision is recorded and the result adjusted if necessary. For NABC+ events, the procedure follows the Codification 4.4 — Appeals procedure.
