Code of Disciplinary Regulations
1. Purpose#
The Code of Disciplinary Regulations governs the investigation and adjudication of charges of unethical or improper conduct. The signed PDF edition is authoritative; this page is a reading aid and the PDF governs any conflict.
2. Charges#
A charge may be brought by a member, a Recorder, or the League. Charges are stated in writing and served on the respondent with notice of the hearing.
3. Hearings#
Hearings are conducted by a disciplinary committee. The respondent may appear, present evidence, and be accompanied. The committee applies the preponderance-of-evidence standard.
4. Sanctions#
Sanctions range from reprimand to expulsion, and may include masterpoint adjustment. Sanctions take effect on the date stated in the decision.
5. Appeals#
A decision may be appealed to the appellate body within the period stated in the decision. The appeal is on the record unless new evidence is admitted.
