Masterpoints, explained
What masterpoints are, the pigmented colors, and how ranks work.

What a masterpoint is#
A masterpoint is a record of a good result in a sanctioned game. You earn them by placing in club games and tournaments. Your lifetime total and the mix of colors you hold determine your rank.
The colors#
Masterpoints come in colors that reflect where they were won:
- Black — club games
- Silver — sectional tournaments
- Red — regional tournaments (session and overall)
- Gold — regional and national overall awards
- Platinum — NABC+ overall awards
Ranks#
Ranks from Rookie up to Grand Life Master require prescribed totals and, at higher levels, prescribed amounts of each color. The exact awards are set by the Masterpoint Regulations and applied through the Codification 4.2 — Masterpoint awards.
